First lessons

Nervous about driving? Most learners are

Your first lesson can be in a quiet street or an empty car park. Each skill is broken into small steps, and nothing moves on until you are comfortable. With dual controls, you are never on your own.

  • Instructors who are good with anxious learners
  • Quiet streets first, busy roads when you are ready
  • Notes after every lesson, so you know what is next

What learners say

Example reviews on this demo site. On yours, they come from your own students.

“I failed my first drive test on a roundabout. Three lessons with Adam later I passed, and I actually enjoyed the drive.”

Aisha· Footscray. Weekend lessons with Yas
“The mock test felt exactly like the real one. The marked sheet at the end showed me the two things I still had to fix.”

Common questions

How many lessons will I need?
It depends on how much practice you get at home. Many learners take between 5 and 10 lessons before their drive test. Book an assessment lesson and your instructor will give you an honest plan.
How many logbook hours do I need in Victoria?
If you are under 21, you need 120 hours of supervised driving, including 20 at night, and you must hold your learner permit for at least 12 months. From 21 to 24 there is no hours requirement and a 6 month minimum; from 25 it is 3 months. Every lesson with us goes in your logbook.
Should I learn in an automatic or a manual?
An automatic is quicker to learn. If you pass your drive test in an automatic, your probationary licence only covers automatic cars; pass in a manual and you can drive either.
Can I use your car for my drive test?
Yes. The test day package includes a warm-up lesson, pick-up from home and the use of our dual-control car for your VicRoads drive test. Book your test with VicRoads first, then book us for the same day.
How do lesson packs work?
Order a pack online and we confirm it. The lessons then sit in your account, and you book each one when it suits you, with nothing more to pay on the day. Starter packs last 6 months and 10-lesson packs 12 months.
Can I move or cancel a lesson?
Yes. Give us at least 24 hours' notice and we will move it at no charge. Use the link in your booking confirmation, or call us.
