Quotes let you propose work to clients before committing. Once accepted, they can be converted directly into invoices.
Creating a Quote
- Go to Quotes from the sidebar
- Click New Quote
- Fill in:
- Client: select or create a contact
- Line items: description, quantity, and price for each item
- GST: inclusive or exclusive, calculated automatically
- Issue Date and Valid Until: how long the quote is valid
- Click Save
Sending a Quote
From the quote detail page, click Send to email the quote to your client. They'll receive a link to:
- View the full quote
- Accept or Decline the quote
Quote Statuses
- Draft: not yet sent
- Sent: waiting for client response
- Accepted: client has approved
- Declined: client has rejected
- Expired: past the "Valid Until" date
Converting to Invoice
Once a quote is accepted:
- Open the quote
- Click Convert to Invoice
- A new invoice is created with all the line items, amounts, and client details copied over
- Review and send the invoice
Tip: Quotes are great for tradies, freelancers, and service businesses where pricing needs approval before work begins.
