Every answer below is kept in step with the OneBookPlus pricing page and the product changelog.
What is OneBookPlus?
OneBookPlus is an all-in-one business management app built for Australian small to medium businesses. It combines invoicing, CRM, online bookings, accounting, marketing, and reputation management into a single platform, replacing tools like Xero, HubSpot, Calendly, and Mailchimp. The AI Companion that chases payments, follows up quotes and writes your daily summary is included on the Growth plan and sold as a $25/mo add-on below it, and the AI Receptionist that answers your phone is a separate $79/mo add-on.
Is OneBookPlus free?
Yes. The free plan includes 10 GST-compliant invoices and 5 quotes per month, 250 contacts, a booking page and basic CRM, no trial clock, no credit card. It runs on 1 login, so a second person who signs in needs Starter, which includes 3 logins. The Free plan covers invoicing, quotes, contacts and bookings. The ledger and the P&L, GST and BAS reports start at Starter. Paid plans are $29, $49 or $69 per month, and every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
Does OneBookPlus handle GST and Australian tax?
Yes. OneBookPlus calculates 10% GST on invoices and quotes, validates ABNs against the Australian Business Register, and works out your BAS figures from the invoices, expenses and till sales already in the account. GST and BAS reporting starts on the Starter plan: the free plan still puts GST on every invoice, it just does not carry the ledger or the reports. Amounts are in AUD only, with Australian formatting, and there is no multi-currency.
Can I use OneBookPlus as invoicing software for my trade business?
Yes. OneBookPlus is built for tradies, plumbers, electricians, and builders. You can create GST-compliant invoices from your phone on-site, convert quotes to invoices in one tap, and send automatic payment reminders to clients.
Switching from Xero or MYOB, how does data migration work?
Contacts, invoices and bookings come in from Settings, then Import, using the CSV templates on that screen. Imported invoices arrive as header totals, the subtotal, GST and amount paid per invoice, rather than as individual line items, so treat them as opening history rather than a copy of your Xero ledger. The chart of accounts has its own importer at Accounting, then Chart of Accounts, then Import. Most data exports cleanly from Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks: open the export in your spreadsheet app, save it as CSV, then upload. If a file will not map, book the free 15-minute migration call and we will do it with you, on any plan.
Does OneBookPlus have online booking?
Yes. Every account gets a shareable online booking page where your clients can self-schedule appointments 24/7. You can subscribe the calendar to Apple, Google or Outlook with one link so new bookings appear there automatically, plus it sends automated reminders and can be embedded on your website.
How is OneBookPlus different from Xero or QuickBooks?
Xero and QuickBooks are accounting-only tools that require add-ons for CRM, bookings, and marketing. OneBookPlus includes full double-entry books, chart of accounts, general ledger, balance sheet, cash flow and BAS, plus invoicing, CRM, bookings, scheduling, reviews, and marketing in one platform, one subscription instead of several.
Does OneBookPlus do full double-entry accounting, or just invoicing?
Full double-entry accounting from the Starter plan: chart of accounts, general ledger, journal entries, balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, aged receivables and payables, and budgets. It also produces BAS summaries, validates ABNs against the Australian Business Register, and calculates 10% GST on every invoice and quote. Bank statements come in as CSV, OFX or QFX files rather than through an automatic bank feed, and the report library is narrower than Xero's.
What do I give up by moving my books off Xero?
A double-entry ledger with Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, cash flow and BAS-ready GST summaries, from the Starter plan. Bank statements come in by CSV, OFX or QFX file, there are no live bank feeds, and the report library is narrower than Xero's. So the ledger itself is not the thing you give up. It is the bits around it: no two-way sync back to Xero, so your accountant works inside OneBookPlus rather than in a Xero file, and no live feed to lean on while we replace the provider. What you get back is CRM, bookings, jobs, email and SMS marketing and review management on the same subscription, which is usually several other bills gone.
Is there a free invoicing app for Australia?
Yes. The OneBookPlus free plan sends 10 GST-compliant invoices and 5 quotes a month to as many as 250 contacts, with ABN, GST and AUD formatting on every document, no trial clock and no credit card. Both of those are monthly counters, and the quote cap is the one people meet second: when you reach either, nothing is deleted and nothing is charged, creating the next one is simply paused until the counter resets on the 1st or you upgrade.
What does the OneBookPlus CRM include?
Contact management, activity timelines, tags, lead source tracking, and automatic contact creation from invoices and bookings. Unlike HubSpot or Salesforce, it isn't sold as a separate subscription, it comes bundled with invoicing, bookings, and accounting in every plan, including the free one.
Does OneBookPlus work for restaurants and cafes?
Yes. Every plan includes a basic POS and sales register (barcode scanning from Starter); the $39/mo Point of Sale app is the full hospitality upgrade: dine-in, takeaway and delivery on one screen, split bills, discounts and tips, and live order tracking. Menu Management and Table Management are free apps on every plan. Reservations with a waitlist, daily sales tracking and order management sit alongside them, and the Kitchen Display screen is its own $19/mo app. Both paid apps come from the built-in App Marketplace with a 14-day free trial each. Neither register puts a card through itself: you tap on your own EFTPOS terminal and record the tender here.
Does OneBookPlus have a mobile app?
Yes. The OneBookPlus iOS app is universal for iPhone and iPad, a real native Apple app with 80+ screens to create invoices, manage bookings, track expenses, switch between businesses, and view all dashboard types. The web app runs in any browser, Android included, and the iOS app on the App Store works on every plan including Free. There is no native Android app yet. On Android the web app installs to the home screen straight from the browser, and the OneBookPlus download page is where the Android status is kept current.
How is my business data protected?
Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), with each business's data isolated at the database layer, hosted in Australia in line with the Privacy Act 1988. Your business records, files and sign-in data are stored in Australia, in AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney). Some specialist suppliers process a defined slice of data overseas, and every one of them is listed row by row in the OneBookPlus subprocessor table. We never sell your data, and the OneBookPlus security overview sets out the controls, the backups and how to report a vulnerability.
Can I try OneBookPlus before committing?
Yes. Start on the free plan immediately, no credit card. To try a paid plan, the 14-day trial covers everything in the Starter, Plus and Growth tiers, again with no card. It does not cover the App Marketplace add-ons: Point of Sale, Kitchen Display, Rostering & Payroll and the AI apps are billed separately and each starts its own 14-day trial when you switch it on.
Does OneBookPlus lodge my BAS and STP to the ATO?
Not yet, and we won't pretend otherwise. OneBookPlus works out your BAS figures automatically (G1, GST on sales and purchases, and your net GST) from your invoices, expenses and till sales, so you or your BAS agent can lodge in minutes through myGov or the ATO portal. Direct ATO e-lodgement via SBR is in final ATO certification, prepare and validate BAS and returns today; we'll tell you the moment lodgement goes live on your account. Payroll is similar: the Rostering & Payroll add-on calculates PAYG withholding, super and leave, and you report each pay run to the ATO through STP-enabled software or your accountant, because Single Touch Payroll pay events are not lodged from OneBookPlus.
Can I keep my accountant, or does it sync with Xero?
Keep your accountant. You can invite them or your bookkeeper straight into OneBookPlus with read-only or full access to a dedicated workspace: financial statements, the general ledger, GST and BAS worksheets, journals and year-end, scoped to what an advisor should see. Your data exports as Xero and MYOB-ready CSV, so nothing is locked in. A live two-way Xero sync is something we want to build, and it is not on a date yet.
What is support like on a small platform?
OneBookPlus is founder-led: one person builds it, runs it, and answers support, in Australian hours. You reach him in-app and by email, and questions are usually answered the same business day. Because the person reading your message is the person who writes the code, a fix or a change you ask for can land in days rather than joining a queue, which is what our early customers keep mentioning in their reviews.
Do you have bank feeds?
No, not right now. Automatic bank feeds are withdrawn while we replace the provider: existing connections are not importing transactions and we are not taking new ones. In the meantime you import a bank statement as CSV, OFX or QFX, or scan a receipt or supplier invoice and let the AI read the supplier, date, GST and total off it. Reconciliation, GST and BAS figures all still work from those. The current state, and what replaces it, is on the OneBookPlus bank feeds page.
Can my customer tap a card at the counter or on site?
Not yet, and this is the honest answer rather than the hopeful one. OneBookPlus takes card payments online through Stripe, on an invoice payment link or a booking deposit, and the $39/mo Point of Sale app records a cash or card-machine sale, but it does not put the card through itself, so you still tap on your own terminal and record the sale here. Tap to Pay on iPhone is built but stays switched off in the public app until Apple grants the distribution entitlement, so plan on the payment link. There is one cost worth knowing before you start. Card and bank-debit payments taken through OneBookPlus, on an invoice or a booking page, carry a platform fee of up to 2.5% on top of Stripe's own processing fees. An active paid subscription includes the payment rail, so a subscriber pays no platform fee; the Free plan and the days of a trial before you subscribe pay the standard rate. There is no fee at all when a customer pays you by bank transfer or cash you record in the app.
What happens to my data if I leave?
You take it with you. Every record exports to CSV: invoices, quotes, contacts, jobs, bookings, expenses, payments and the general ledger, with the contact and chart-of-accounts exports shaped so Xero and MYOB will import them. Files and attachments download too. You do not need an active subscription to export, and we do not hold data back to make leaving harder.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel from Settings, then Billing, at any time. On a monthly plan your access runs to the end of the month you have already paid for. On an annual plan the 12-month term runs to its end and then does not renew, and there is no pro-rata refund on the unused months. Inside 14 days of a charge we refund in full in five cases: a trial converted before you intended and you have not materially used paid features; you started an annual plan and ask before materially using the paid year; you were charged after cancelling; you were charged twice for the same billing period; or a platform fault stopped you using the service for a significant part of the billing period. Email support@onebookplus.com.au from your account address and we reply within 2 business days. A subscription bought inside the iOS app is billed and refunded by Apple, not by us.
