Built for Australian rates, not converted from a US calculator
Our free tax calculators are built specifically for Australians. Whether you're an employee wanting to estimate your take-home pay, a sole trader calculating your tax obligations, or an employer working out PAYG withholding and super contributions, we've got you covered.
The calculators default to FY 2026-27, the year that began on 1 July 2026, when the rate on income between $18,201 and $45,000 fell from 16% to 15% and study loan repayment thresholds were indexed. Every calculator with a financial year selector also offers FY 2025-26, the year most people are lodging a return for right now, and FY 2024-25 for late and amended returns.
These tools give you quick estimates. OneBookPlus goes further: it tracks GST as you invoice and works out your BAS figures (G1, 1A, 1B) automatically, so you or your BAS agent lodge in minutes through myGov or the ATO portal. Direct ATO e-lodgement via SBR is in final ATO certification, prepare and validate BAS and returns today; we'll tell you the moment lodgement goes live on your account.

FAQ
About the OneBookPlus calculators
Which financial year do these calculators use?
FY 2026-27 (1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027) by default, using ATO rates, thresholds, brackets and offsets for that year. Every calculator with a financial year selector also offers FY 2025-26, the year most people are lodging a return for right now, and FY 2024-25 for late and amended returns. Each calculator's 'Sources & methodology' block links to the relevant ATO page so you can verify the figures.
Are these tools free to use?
Yes, every calculator and lookup tool on this page is free, with no signup, no email gate, and no usage limit. Calculations run in your browser; nothing you enter is stored or sent to a server.
Do these calculators replace professional tax advice?
No. They give you accurate ballpark figures for planning, quoting, and budgeting, but for individual returns or business decisions you should consult a registered tax agent. The income tax, salary, and tax-refund calculators don't model every offset, deduction, or HELP debt situation.
Where do the rates and thresholds come from?
ATO published schedules (income tax brackets, Medicare levy, LITO, the super guarantee rate and contribution caps, study loan repayment thresholds), the Fair Work Ombudsman (national minimum wage, casual loading, NES leave), each state and territory revenue office (payroll tax and stamp duty), and the RBA and ACCC (card surcharging). Each calculator cites its own source. The super guarantee is administered by the ATO, not ASIC.
Why doesn't my refund calculator number match what my tax agent calculated?
The most common reasons: HELP/HECS debts, study loan repayments, private health insurance rebate adjustments, capital gains, foreign income, or eligibility for offsets we don't model individually (e.g. the Senior Australians and Pensioners Tax Offset). For a complex return, the calculator is a sanity check, not a final figure.
Will more calculators be added?
Yes, new tools ship as we hear what Australian small businesses ask us for. Recent additions include the BAS calculator, ABN lookup, and the GST-inclusive/exclusive calculator. Suggest one via the contact page.
