About this app
This is not built yet. There are no gift cards in OneBookPlus today, the POS has no gift tender, and there is nothing to install from this page. A gift card is paid for now and redeemed later, which is money in the till today and a customer through the door on a second visit. When it ships, Gift Cards & Store Credit will let you sell pre-paid value cards in any AUD denomination, either as a printed card or as a digital code sent by SMS or email at the point of sale. Redemption at the POS will work like any other tender: the customer presents the card or code, the operator scans or types it, and the available balance applies as part of the payment. Partial redemptions will track the remaining balance, so the card can be used across several visits until it is spent or expires. The same primitive is planned to double as store credit for refunds. Processing a return on an order attached to a customer would let the refund flow back as store credit on a card issued to that customer, which keeps the revenue in the shop and gives them a reason to come back. On the Australian rules: gift-card expiry is regulated under the Australian Consumer Law, with a minimum of three years for cards sold after 1 November 2019. When it ships it will refuse an expiry inside that three-year minimum, and it will report the outstanding balance as a liability on your books under Inventory Value, with gift-card sales treated as zero-margin in cost-of-goods reporting because they are future revenue, not current.
How it works
- 1
There is nothing to install yet, gift cards have not been built
- 2
Register your interest here and we will tell you when it lands
- 3
Until then, the POS has no gift tender, so a gift sale has to be handled outside OneBookPlus
- 4
When it ships you will set your denomination defaults, sell a card at the POS, and the customer will redeem it by code at a later sale
- 5
Remaining balance will track itself, and a refund on a customer-attached order will be able to issue store credit

About OneBookPlus apps
How Gift Cards & Store Credit fits into the rest of OneBookPlus
Most OneBookPlus apps are not external integrations wired up between separate products. They are native modules installed inside the same platform you already use for invoicing, bookings, CRM, and accounting. That means Gift Cards & Store Credit reads from and writes to the same customer records, financial entries, and calendar events as every other module, with no scheduled sync delays and no risk of data drift between systems.
Because the marketplace runs inside OneBookPlus, billing is consolidated. Gift Cards & Store Credit appears as a single line on the same OneBookPlus invoice as your plan, so you don't end up reconciling separate vendor charges across three or four different SaaS subscriptions. Cancellation is one click and never reaches into your data. Uninstalling an app removes the feature from the UI but preserves the underlying customer, invoice, and booking records, so reinstalling later picks up exactly where you left off.
Every app in the marketplace is built specifically for the Australian small and medium business context: GST and ABN handling are first-class concerns, dates render as DD/MM/YYYY, currency defaults to AUD, and the underlying compliance plumbing (BAS summaries, ATO-friendly records, AHPRA / NDIS / Fair Work checkpoints where relevant) is shared across modules.
For a side-by-side of which features ship as core modules versus which require an installed app, see the features page. For pricing across plans and which apps are bundled at each tier, see the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Gift Cards & Store Credit and the OneBookPlus app marketplace.
Can I install Gift Cards & Store Credit today?
Not yet. Gift Cards & Store Credit is still being built, so it does not appear in your App Marketplace to install. Register your interest from this page and we will tell you when it lands.
What will Gift Cards & Store Credit cost?
The planned price is $15/mo, with a 14-day free trial. Nothing is charged until it ships and you choose to install it.
Will registering interest cost me anything?
No. Registering interest starts a OneBookPlus account, nothing more. There is no charge and no commitment attached to an app that has not shipped.
