Getting Started with the AI Companion

Learn how to enable and use the OneBookPlus AI assistant to save time on everyday tasks.

The OneBookPlus AI Companion helps you work faster by automating repetitive tasks and providing smart suggestions throughout the app.

Turning AI features on

  1. Go to AI Companion in the sidebar, then Settings
  2. Under Features, switch on the ones you want. There is no master switch, each feature is turned on by itself, and one that is off never runs and never sends anything
  3. Under Channel Preferences, choose whether it goes by email, by text, or lets the AI decide
  4. Under Timing, choose the hour of day each one runs

Once enabled, you'll see the AI sparkle icon appear throughout the app wherever smart suggestions are available.

What the AI Companion Can Do

The AI Companion currently supports:

  • Invoice payment chasing: automatically send polite reminders to clients with overdue invoices
  • Bank transaction categorisation: suggest expense categories for the bank transactions you import
  • Google review harvesting: request reviews from happy clients at the optimal time
  • Smart suggestions: contextual hints and tips based on your usage patterns

How to Interact with the AI

Look for the sparkle icon next to actions throughout the app. When you see it, the AI has a suggestion for you. Click the icon to:

  • Accept the suggestion and apply it immediately
  • Dismiss the suggestion if it's not relevant
  • Adjust the suggestion before applying

Privacy and Data

The AI Companion only uses your business data within your OneBookPlus account. Your data is never shared with other users or used to train external models. All AI processing happens securely within your account context.

Plans and Pricing

The AI Companion is a paid add-on app. It is included on the Growth plan, and on Starter and Plus you can add it with a 14-day free trial. The current price is on the AI Companion app page. Free plan users need to move to a paid plan before adding it.

Tip: Start by enabling AI payment chasing. It runs on its own once it is switched on, so it is the quickest way to see whether the AI Companion earns its keep on your account.
