Remove an app, and your data

Removing an app hides its screens and stops the subscription. Your records are not deleted, and what you already paid for still runs.

Removing an app does two separate things: it takes the screens out of your sidebar, and it deals with the money.

How to remove one

Go to App Marketplace, open the installed app, and choose to remove it. Only an owner or an admin can, for the same reason only they can add one.

What happens to the billing

This is the part worth understanding, because getting it wrong costs real money.

  • If the app is still on its free trial, the subscription is cancelled immediately. It can never convert into a charge
  • If the app is already being paid for, the renewal is stopped and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. You do not forfeit the month you bought

We check the live state with Stripe at the moment you remove it, rather than trusting what our own records last said. A stale record is how somebody loses a prepaid year, and that is not a mistake we are willing to make twice.

What happens to your data

Nothing is deleted. The app's screens disappear and the records you created with it stay in your account. Invoices, jobs, contacts and bookings are all yours regardless of which app produced them.

Adding it back later

You can. The screens come back. What does not come back is the free trial, as how an app trial turns into a charge explains.

Check the billing page afterwards

Settings, then Billing & Plan shows the monthly breakdown. Confirm the app has left the list, or shows an end date, before you close the tab.
