The full cleaning business tutorial
5 min 48 sec, filmed in the app on our demo cleaning business
Start freeA full tutorial for running a cleaning business in OneBookPlus, filmed on our demo cleaning business, from your first repeat client to a bond clean the agent signs off. Use the chapters to jump to any part.
It starts with your home page and menu, then books a regular client in every fortnight and shows how to skip, move, hand over or extend their visits. It sets up a cleaning round that raises each visit as a job, reminds the client before every clean and brings its checklist with it.
Then it makes a scope template your own, works through a bond clean checklist with before and after photos, and sends the scope to the property manager as a PDF or a link they approve on their phone. It finishes with your booking page: the suburbs you travel to, your cleaning questions, and a client booking a clean.

Common questions
What does the full cleaning tutorial cover?
Your dashboard, repeat bookings, changing a repeat clean, recurring rounds, scope templates, the bond clean checklist, sending the scope, and your booking page, in eight chapters.
What is the difference between a repeat booking and a round?
A repeat booking puts every visit on the calendar for a regular client. A round in Recurring Jobs raises each visit as a job, and can bring a scope checklist with it.
Can the property manager approve the scope?
Yes. Send them the scope as a PDF, or share a link to a live page where they see the progress and approve by typing their name.

This is the full guide to running a cleaning business in OneBookPlus: your dashboard, repeat clients, rounds, scope checklists for bond cleans, and your booking page.
Your home page opens on today's run. Every clean is grouped by suburb, so you can see the day's route at a glance, with the time, the price, and the cleaner on each one.
Further down, Scopes in Progress shows the bond cleans under way and how far along each checklist is. Ready to Bill lists finished cleans with no invoice yet, and Quotes to Chase shows quotes still waiting on a reply.
In the menu, My Jobs holds your recurring rounds. Clients holds your contacts and properties, and under Bookings you'll find your repeat bookings.
Scope Templates is your library of cleaning checklists: bond cleans for New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, offices, strata, medical rooms, Airbnb turnovers, carpets and windows.
Let's book a regular client. Start a new booking: choose the service, the cleaner who will do it, and the client, then the first date and time.
Tick Recurring booking. Choose how often, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or every so many weeks or days, and how many visits to book, up to fifty two.
Create it, and every visit lands on the calendar at once. The client gets a confirmation, and a reminder before each clean, so they know to leave the key out.
Repeat bookings lists every regular in one place. Open one to see all of its visits, past and still to come.
Plans change, so a repeat booking is easy to adjust. Open the client's series from Repeat bookings, and every visit is right there.
If the client is away for a week, skip just that visit. They're emailed to say it's off, or press Quietly to skip it without a message, if you've already spoken.
Move next shifts the time, or the day, of every visit still to come. Tick the box, and the client is emailed the new time.
When a cleaner goes on leave, Reassign hands every visit still to come to someone else on your team.
And when the run is nearly over, Extend adds more visits on the same day, at the same time, without starting again.
For offices, strata blocks and regular homes your crew looks after on a round, use Recurring Jobs. Each round raises its next visit as a job, ready to assign and invoice.
A new schedule needs the job, the client and the site. Add notes for the crew, like where the key is and anything to watch out for.
Choose how often it repeats and the first visit. Switch on the reminder, and the client hears from you before every clean.
Then pick a default scope template. Every visit the round raises arrives with its checklist already filled in, so the crew knows exactly what to do.
Forecast shows every visit coming up across your rounds, and what they will bring in.
Scope templates are ready made checklists. Open the New South Wales bond clean, and Show items lists every room and task the agent will check.
To make one your own, press Clone and customise, and give your copy a name.
Add the extra jobs you always do, like balcony glass, or photos for the agent, and save. It's ready to apply to any job, and to set on any round.
On the day, open the job and press Scope Checklist. Apply a template, and every room and task is added to this job.
Tick items off as the crew finishes them, or tick a whole room at once when it's done.
Add a before and an after photo to any item, straight from your phone. They're the proof an agent asks for if the bond is ever in question.
If something can't be done, skip it and say why. The reason stays on the checklist, so nobody wonders later.
Once every item is dealt with, mark the job complete, right from the checklist.
When the clean is under way or done, send the scope. Download it as a PDF, or email it straight to the property manager with a short note.
Or press Share link, and send a link to a live page of the checklist.
On their phone, the client or agent sees how far along the clean is, room by room, and can approve the scope by typing their name.
Every approval is kept under Scope Acceptances, with who approved it, and when.
Last, your booking page. Under Service area, fill in the suburbs you travel to by distance from your base, check the list, and save.
On your booking page, use the cleaning template. It asks what you need to know before a clean: bedrooms, bathrooms, pets, floors and extras.
Clients pick a clean, and a time that suits them.
They give their address, so you can see it's a suburb you cover. Then they answer your cleaning questions: how many bedrooms and bathrooms, any pets, the floors, and extras like the oven or inside windows.
Their answers arrive with the booking, so you know the size of the job before you get there.
