Frequently asked questions
OneBookPlus uses the Australian financial year (1 July to 30 June). All quarterly reports align to this: Q1 is July to September, Q2 is October to December, Q3 is January to March, and Q4 is April to June.
Yes. The GST/BAS Report in Accounting shows your GST collected on sales, GST paid on purchases, and net GST for each quarter, so you can use those figures to prepare your BAS. Direct ATO e-lodgement via SBR is in final ATO certification, prepare and validate BAS and returns today; we'll tell you the moment lodgement goes live on your account. Until then you lodge through the ATO or your tax agent, and you mark the BAS as lodged in OneBookPlus so your books match. Always verify figures with your accountant.
On the dashboard this figure is cash basis: revenue counts when an invoice is marked paid, and expenses when they are approved or paid, inside the period you selected. If you report on an accrual basis, use the Profit & Loss report under Accounting instead. That report shows a cash and accrual choice while your books are still derived, and switches to accrual on its own once they post to the general ledger, where it says so at the top. The two figures will not agree, so check which one you are reading before you quote it.
Not at the moment. Automatic bank feeds are withdrawn while we replace the provider, so there is nothing to connect today. Instead you import your transactions from a file your bank exports: go to Banking, then Transactions & Import, then Import Statement, and upload a CSV, OFX or QFX file. Duplicate lines are skipped, so re-importing an overlapping date range is safe.
Yes. Go to Settings, then Export Data, to export your transactions, invoices, and reports as CSV files. You can also share read-only access with your accountant.
